front drivers side rotor warped like crazy, easy to replace?

is it difficult to replace them? i know the rears are realy easy to replace but are the fronts easy? do i just remove the front brakes and the 4 hub bolts and the rotor slides out?

also since i have to replace the rotor.. is it better if i replaced it with something else instead of oem? like slotted or something that would work with oem calipers?

yep, basically. i don't know much about the mechanics of cars and i got it done. (took a while cause the bolts were sticky)

I recommend using thread locker when you're putting the bolts back in so they don't vibrate loose while driving.

Also, if you're rotor is rusted on, there are two holes in it where you can screw in screws that will break the rotor from hub. this is extremely helpful.

if you do end up replacing the rears too, remember that the calipers are screw in type pistons and not push in types.

oh and i have a 98 cl, i heard its different for 97s

Front ones are a bitch to replace, some people have done it here, but it takes mad time and the right tools! Its going to be more expansive in a garage also, some might even send you to a dealer.

In the helms manual, its says to resurface the disk while its on the car with a special tool! Basically, you have to remove the hub to remove the disk!

Now, i wouldn't recommend you to buy slotted or drilled disks because you are not racing and so on. Buy some good quality plain disks. Myself, i decided to go with Brembo Blanks because i don't want to change the front discs again during the next several years and i actually really like them and i can say i have brembo on my car :P!! lol. DONT BUY EBAY!
It took my mechanic arround 3-4 hours to change only the front ones... The hub was badly seized.

98/99, replacing rotors is easy. remove wheel, remove caliper and bracket, remove 2 screws holding rotor to hub. reverse the process.
97s are a bitch. you have to press them off the hub. easiest way is to remove the whole knuckle assembly. thats my mechanic did on my 97. thank god i dont have to deal with that shit anymore.

i did mine on a lift with air tools and it still took 2-3 hours. The two screws on the one rotor were siezed so i had to drill them out(drill through them)

No for the one wheel i just left them off because i did it in school and didn't have time to get new screws. I've heard that you don't need them but some people insist that you do.

I left the screws out of my 98, and done have any problems, its held on plenty. I read those screws were just there to hold it on during manufacture.

I chose to keep them out, all they do is rust in there anyways. up to you.

I had to pound away for a long time on my rotors to get them off.
