This forum is...
The best Acura forum on the internet hands down.
I wanted to thank every single of you who posted comments about the CL Automatic transmission issues.
I took my 98 CL 3.0 back to the dealership today and told them everything I had learned reading on this forum and they're going to replace the transmission free of cost. Since I haven't had the car for more than 30 days. They tried to tell me it was this or that but I was too stubborn haha. They claimed it was some silly shit until I showed them hard facts and examples.
Had I not found this forum and all of the insight all of you have shared and bullshit you had to deal with and replace I would have been screwed. I would have never known what that slight jerking was, or would have cost me in the end.
Thanks guys.

yup last I checked it was a big problem in the 97s especially since they used the componentsw off the 97 Accords, it was a big problem among the 5th gens and apparantly Odessies too, but not big enough for Honda to do anything about it
either way my failed ABS has caused too many close calls, but I was never up to spending the reported 1500 bucks for a repair, since apparantly they go in and replace the whole system

I tell newbies that all the time that put their faith in the dealer as if they were God himself incarnated into a divine mechanic. I've spoken to dealer mechanics who couldn;t diagnose the simplest problems w/o a Diag machine . But there are many great mechanics out there at Acura dealers who know they're stuff.
I thought that Tranny was recalled? I figured they'd have it on file, but then again, I've never purchased a new car.
I love this site. Shout out to all who post and keep the info flowing. Take care and happy driving.
