Footrest Help
All,
I'm brand new to this forum but I have already found a ton of great info! I am glad I found this site.
I am hoping that someone might be able to help me something. I am 6'3" and I find that the footrest is way too close for my comfort. Actually, the gas pedal is as well but I don't think there is anything I can do about that. Anyway, I am hoping that there is another footrest available that is not as large as the stock one. I have a '97 CL 3.0 automatic. I have tried removing mine but it looks pretty bad with nothing in it's place. Someone suggested that the footrest (dead pedal) that comes with the manual tranny models might be smaller.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? I have the 8 way power seat and am using the seat bottom tilt but even a half inch more leg room would really make a big difference!
Regards,
Rick

I'm not sure about another one available for our cars, but you may want to try the one's for an accord or integra. They seem to be the same or at least close to ours. You could also take it out and extend the floor carpet over the area by either cutting a piece from under a seat or if you can find some space carpet that looks close enough.

take out the footrest and then fiberglass a smaller one... of find some carpet and cover a small block of wood... of you could add a rubber piece on top of it... cut the top off the OEM footrest glue it to some wood and screw it back into the place and then glue the plastic on.

Yeah, I thought about coming up with something myself and those are good suggestions. I figured if the footrest from another model might be a bolt-on and if so, I would rather do that.
So, unless anyone knows if another footrest will fit, I will start deciding how to fabricate something.
Thanks!
Rick
