First time at the track

So my buddies and I went to the track tonight (Capitol raceway in MD) and needless to say it didnt turn out as good as i was expecting. I pulled off 3 consistent 16.3's @ 85 and one 16.6 @ 85 when I didnt powerbrake. First off all, why are my trap speeds the same with that different of a time? But more importantly, it was 93 deg. and kinda humid so does that really have that big of an effect on E.T.'s?

My buddy ran his old civic w/ a GS-R motor swap and Type R cams and could only pull off 15.4,15.5,and 15.6. That's odd because back in march (when it was cool and dry) he ran a 15.3 with the regular GS-R cams. I've seen that my car (3.0 w/ intake, I even took the subs and spare out) would run about 15.8 or 15.9, so can I expect better results in cooler weather, or is weather not as important as some make it out to be?

if it was colder then you might run a little quicker, next time bring a bag of ice, like a 10lb bag and wrap a towel over the bag and set it for about 10 mins or so over the intake and you will get some more cold air into the engine, ive seen this done many of time and dustbuster does this as well from what i heard

the colder the better but the hotter does not always do the best, the humid air may have been to a disadvantage for a turbo/intercooler engine but the cold air is the most important

next time try the ice technique
