mulk: weight difference is unbelievable... the stock hood is hard for me to carry, but the CF hood is easy as pie.. although i cant compare.. the CF hood feels more than 50% lighter. without hood dampers, the stock hood is heavy as HELLL
wilp: half and half. i still need to loosen the screws and get everything to fit, but i have gotten into an accident before and it probably shifted the front of my car's chasis a bit, hence the gap. all in all, fitment is excellent.

you should start a thread in the photo section (since you're the first with pics) and make it a pic only thread for CF hoods so that each GB member can put up their pics as they get their hoods.. it'll be easy to browse through it to see it on all the diff. color CL's

^ i will.. but i got some things i should take care of before posting more pics on ACL, you know, family stuff =/
before i go.. ill say this. the grille is VERY hard to put in. it seems that not only did they not have pre-drilled holes (this is OK since they DO have circles of where the holes are supposed to go), but for some reason, the area that holds in the screws seem to be.. out of place. hard to describe, but when i put my grille in, it doesnt sit well because the plastic inside is very bumpy (not like the smoothness of the OEM steel). You will have to sand it flat so that the screws can sit in further.
if that doesnt work out fo rme tomorrow, i will try to move the area "forward" by applying some quicksteel and letting it dry. That way, it acts as extra plastic and i will be sanding off the rear part. this way, the plastic will be moved towards the screw and then i can screw on the top from the back and make sure everytnign is secure.
any questions please post it here, thanks.

ok wow..that made no since to me...lol....i'll have to figure that out later because i totaly got lost just there.
Anyway...question....what happens to CF when it breaks? Like say u got in a wreck...would the hood bend like OEM or does CF just snap in 1/2 ?? (sorry...ive just always wondered)

i will ask carlo.. but i believe that the backing will crack and the result will be carbon fiber threading everywhere like the edge of a straw hat

its really flimsy thas why you will need hood pins
but under pressure it will crack and leave stress marks like plastic kinda

^ hood pins are a must
and to clarify for you guys.. basically the plastic sits further back than OEM so the screw doesnt go through all the way.
before:
=||O thats the screw going through the hole, which leaves a lot of thread left so taht the cap can screw on, thus securing.
CF hood:
| |O the plastic is thick, thus the screw cant reach the end. if it cant reach the end, the thread doesnt stick out, thus not having enough room to screw on the cap.
what i recommend is this: shave off the extra plastic in the back area so that you can transform | |O to =||O. less plastic = more threading = better securing of the grille
hope that helps.
*note: the O refers to the head of the screw

kevin: its not really a screw i guess, but if u check ur grille, you will find its a plastic piece with a screw coming out. im not sure how to replace that, but lenghtening would help indeed.
alex: can't use stock hood dampers. it'll fly up and since theres a catch, it might snap from all the pressure over time. just use your hands boy! lol

i believe there are weaker hood dampers on the market made for CF hoods... i might get myself one of those cuz i hate holding up my hood, lol, or having an object block my work area.
i also got the grille to sit... kinda protrudes outsides from the sides but oh well, ill worry about that next time.
