Finally..LED conversion Dash almost complete

for the gauges:
did you have to use acetone or something like that to get rid of the blue tint that was on the gauges itself? or did you just put the 906 bulb in, and it just lit blue....
Thanks
Dan

I just did the clock and took apart the climate control. I guess I need 3mm LED's and resistors.
The clock was easy...I didn't buy the book thing like you said...I just took the plastic wrapping from a 32 pack (or something) of dasani water, used the darkest part of that, and the clock turned just like yours. I cut the red wire w/ black line to disable the dim thing like you said...turned out great

DanMan1464-
i just plugged the 906 bulbs right in. they are a little lighter than the rest of the dash so I might try to add some more bulbs to the odometer.

hmm
the 906s have bright spots you say?
what if you shaved the tops down? I know its risky since they are $5 bulbs....but that would spread the light more
at least it does with single LED's

baka_t -I not exactly sure what color I used but I know that it is one of the darker blues, actually i used the two darkest blues and taped them together. They are the ones with the lowest transparency level.
daman1464- Yeah i noticed the bright spots. I tried sanding them down and it looked way better, so def try it. Actually I sanded all the bulbs down with a dremel.

hey im almost finished too!!
did you do the shifter area?
all i have left are:
shifter area
ignition area
and im done!!!
Probably gonna customize a lighting setup on the drivers side window regulator part...since there's no LED's there...

From what I can find IR leds are used primarily for 2 purposes, one is as an emiitter in items like your TV/DVD/Stereo etc. remotes. Also for IR synching on things like palms, high end calculators and what not. They are also used as Illuminators to assist night vision devices. That is really all I wanted to dig up this early in the morning, if you want the specifics on how these work i would reccomend googling for it.
