My stock alarm keeps going off randomly. Like 6:30am yesterday and 4:30am today! That thing is loud at shit and it woke me up better than my alarm clock! After hitting unlock on the remote the siren stopped, but went off again 5 minutes later. I had to put the key in the ignition to get it to finally stop. This has ben happening randomly over the past month or so.

After doing a search, it seems that it may be the hood latch, possibly. I didn't see a DIY on this. Do you think starting w/ replacing the hood latch would make sense? How mucg to buy and how hard to DIY?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

idk the alarm is fucked, we had an oddessy that did that, it did it until the battery went dead, prolly need to just go get a new one or something

I think you are on the right track with checking the sensors. It could be that a wire is shorting in the harness, or that a sensor is not working properly. Start by testing the sensors... If you find one to not be functioning properly... replace it. How did you determine the hoodlatch sensor to be the culprit? Just curious.

I'm speculating about the hood latch. Did a search on this site and that seems to be a suggested resolution in a few instances for alarm sounding randomly.

Never had a car with an alarm before (this is the first)-- well, the factory alarm really isn't a 'real' alarm but thats another story. In the past, The Club has always been my alarm!

Any good DIY info on this for a novice?
