F series turbo question
Did some google searching and couldn't get much information, being at work and sneaking onto the internet doesn't help. But yall are the Fseries guru's to me and i learned a lot here with the CL so im asking here.
Current car is a Del Sol with a D16z6, decided to turbo it and increase its output a little for DD, goal would be 250-300whp on a medium budget roughly 300-500$ a month into the build.
Im stuck between building the D a little i've seen some impressive numbers on Dseries sites, but most of my driving is done on base, in town, with a nice 10mile straight in the middle. So i wouln't mind the extra torque of an F.
Led me to thinking about the F possibly being cheaper to reach my goals.
What steps would an F need to reach the 250-300whp range? I'll do some price comparisons after work once i know the requirements of the F platform.

I would stick to building the D series to be honest. I've seen budget builds on the D series put up great numbers with just rods, pistons and a lil headwork and boost. Vitara pistons, rods and a 30R would make that little Del Sol a fun car.

Yeah, although f series motors handle boost better than most motors in the import scene, if you're on a budget you should definitely stick with your zc motor like dainfammus1 stated if its your DD rods, cams, some headwork and new pistons would make you happy and obviously some boost and a better cam like I said should give you a little added torque. I'm building my F20B swap that I just purchased and its not cheap lol. But whatever you decide to do happy building and good luck.

Thanks for the input y'all, d seems to be the cheaper route unless I come across a good deal. Price check time shame the market sucks in nm for hondas.
I don't care too much about sohc and dohc for what I plan to do either will work :-) goodluck on that f20b man, looks like a fun engine.

Thanks man, but I was only mentioning d.o.h.c for torque reasons, if you're still looking into swaps go to: jdmenginedepot.com best prices and the mileage is nice too, pretty sure that once my F20 gets dropped my F22 will be for sale on here. But good luck keep us updated.
