I dont know whether this is a repost of something (- if it is im sorry) but here are the stock muffler dimensions for those of you who dont know (2.2 4 cyl, first gen): -

16" X 9.5" X 7.25"

Offset IN 2 inches from left when facing correct, looking towards the front of the car....

Offset OUT...

Ok, now here's my question for all you pro's out there!

I want to install a custom Borla exhaust on my 2.2 4-cyl.... From the posts that I've read, I seem to have gathered that for a 2.2, I should go for a 2" inlet and outlet muffler...

So after going through the borla site I come down to the following two choices...

Borla - no. 40651 - 13 1/4" x 4" x 9 1/2"
Borla - no. 40657 - 14" x 4 1/4" x 7 7/8"

The cans are different sizes... What do you recommend? They both have 2" in/out. Im looking for something subtle, not too loud so I thought the larger can would be softer than the smaller one...

Any wisdom to share would be great...!!! Thanks!

If you want something not as loud, look into getting a resonator as well. that will kill the sound a good bit. I'm not too familiar with the Borla setup, i have a magnaflow, but good luck with the decision.

Get off the borla it's for muscle cars not import rice burners and please search for exhaust pipe sizes it's all over here
