Exhaust... again
Well my threads have become mostly boring recently with repair ?s, sry about that since I hate reading boring threads too.
I'm looking at quieting down my exhaust a bit, nearly back down to stock. It was a lot of fun when it was installed, but now it's becoming more of my dd and I need something a bit more professional sounding. I was hoping to keep the high flow of an upgraded exhaust but quiet it down a bit.
I was looking at the apexi ws2, hoping it was as quiet as some people say. My question is: does the piping + headers + high flow cat + resonator affect the sound enough to where it might still be (much) louder than stock even with a quieter muffler, or would changing just the muffler get me closer to the sound I want. I'm okay with throaty (g35, FX), but the resonating deep muffler tones are just too much now.

I already have the biggest resonator that will fit. Still pretty loud, especially on all the hills around here or if there are other people in the car. It was fun while it lasted, but I need something more practical.
Right now I have DC headers into small straight pipe into hiflo rand tech cat and then catback 2.25" piping into 22" magnaflow resonator and it ends in the 14816 magnaflow muffler.

I think a ws2 would help. I have a friend with a full 2.5in catback on his rsx-s with a ws2 and it sounded stock unless he was mashing on it. His car made me go out and buy a ws2 also, but I haven't mounted my exhaust yet

Yeah, WS2 is nothing like that. It is definitely just like stock unless you are on it. With my test pipe, I think it sounds beautiful during acceleration. As soon as you get up to speed, it is near silent, no constant droning like a fart can.

I'm glad you put those videos up, since I have a huge hole in my muffler and had decided months ago that that was the muffler I was going to get. I hate droning, thank you for saving me a huge headache albeit at your expense.
