Exhaust

i just got my 97 2.2CL 2 weeks ago and i'm looking for an exhaust system and headers.. i realize that i could just get an universal muffler, like apex or 5zigen, but i saw before that i could just get a cat-back system and headers for a 94-97 honda accord 2.2.. is this true?

if so is there any that anyone would recommend.. i just want one with a throaty sound(not a bee in a can), good performance, and nice looks from the back.. i saw the APEXi N1 Series, Greddy EVO Series, and DC Sports Cat-back...

...and if the exhaust works for 94-97 accord would a JET Chip work as well?

thanks for your help,

Yes they work 94-97 accords and nnnnnnnnnnoooooooooo Jet Chip, if your gonna do it get venom 400, and if you plan to mod heavily or get nitrous Id just save the cash and buy the apexi v-afc later. Who ever makes the Jet Chip has posted bs dyno graphs, weve proven venom makes a little hp though it decreases your gas mileage. Welcome to the site

Apex World Sport exhaust in nice and civil, throaty at low rpms and intake drowns it out at higher rpms. Pretty close to stock, but gives a nice rumble to the car.

I think tanabe is the only way to go if youd like a quiter muffler and more performance, Make sure to get the silencer. However, if your expecting huge gains dont, louder usually = more powerful. Greddy, DC Sports, HKS, and Bosal sound pretty good and give the most hp. Check out a copy of Sport Compact Car for august they have an in depth review of mufflers their hp increase, weight and tones at cruising (3000rpm) and at around redline. Whatever you do don't don't don't buy APC or its more atractive cousin Ractive. Im not knockin ractive they make nice interior pieces but I dont trust their performance parts.
