If the engine was rebuilt it was either in an accident or had a mechanical failure most likely. Just be careful with it, a rebuilt motor on a car with a lot of miles is a good thing because parts do wear out

hopefully it was rebuilt by someone good. i guess thats one of the cons is you don't know what went on, it might be full of vw parts(j/k)
but if it was someone who knew what they where doing it could be a blessing and you might get another million miles out of it.
hows it run? does it make sounds like you should be worried?
kinda interested on why it was rebuilt in the first place, what went wrong?
as for being the car beingcheaper, i dunno. usally when i have a car that has a crap motor, i get a good replacement motor and do a swap. so far it has been cheaper to swap a good one in then to have the old f'ed up one rebuilt.
