I have been having a few problems with my electrics, it started 2 weeks ago when the car wouldnt start. Jumping was no help so i had it towed to the dealership. There was a short in my security system which was causing the security fuse to blow and the car not start only when the lock button was used on the remote. 440 dollars later they diagnosed it to the wiring harness of my cd player which was installed 3 years ago. So they pulled the cd player. And it starts and locks fine now.

Now the parking lights and intrument lights do not come on with the headlights and the clock and climate control does not dim. But, the parking lights DO light up when the remote is used to unlock it.

Is there a relay that flips on the parking lights and instrument lights when the headlights are flipped on? Or is this some obscure problem?

 

There may be a recall on your ignition switch. This could be the cause of your problems. The CD player may not have been at falt at all. I would go back to the same dealer and have them make it right. Check the topic regarding ball joints on this thread. There is a link to a place to check for recalls. Good luck.
