Effect of changing to Synthetic oil

I changed to synthetic oil (Mobil 1 5w30) few months ago. Someone said that I will have to do the first oil change within 1500 miles. I did the first oil change in 1000 miles. I did all these from walmart. I have driven around 800 miles and noticed that it was overfilled. So when I drained the extra oil, it was thick. I took it to a local Advance auto parts store and asked whether the oil was very bad and he said that it is bad but not too bad. He said that the engine might have a lot of sludge and recommended me to use oil flush additive.

My question is, is it safe to use the oil flush additive in synthetic oil or should I just do another oil change (in 800 miles)? Its getting damn expensive - around $70 in oil cost in 3 months!!!

Unrelated to this, I cleaned my throttle body and IAC because my engine was hesitant and the idle sometime stayed at 750 and sometimes at 800rpm. After the cleanup, I did feel a little more power but it did not solve the problem. I also feel more vibration in the pedals and the seat (may be I am too anal retentive!). Any suggestions what should I look into as a next step? Could it be that my IAC is failing or should I have to test IAR etc etc etc...

Thanks.

Drain about one quart of oil. Add the quart of engine flush. Turn car over and let it run for 3 minutes. Turn the car off and let it sit for 30 minutes. Drain oil and refil with fresh synthetic oil based on manufacturers specifications. You can either do that or take it to a lube place and have the engine flushed by a machine. Either way it will work.
You will be fine. make sure you do not overfill again. That is a lot worst then the switch from regular to synthetic.
