Ebay HID's-Horrible?

Hey guys. I've been trying to think of some cosmestic things to spruce up the cl a bit while I do this turbo project so i was thinking of getting some HID's if they aren't too expensive. I found these and I was wondering if they would be any good-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01...QQcmdZViewItem

I don't know anything about HID's really, this is very new to me so if you could fill me in on anything I need to know on them, whats good, whats a waste of money, that sort of thing I'd be very appreciative. thx guys

I have 8000k hids from ebay, they work just fine. Best bang for my buck.

But I have a 2nd gen, so it's PnP.

I'd go with Josh and buy from him. He does not sell crap, only the good stuff.

Exactly right, the wiring is really shitty on the ballasts and the ballasts burn out, Kaixen is quality and has a warranty

DO NOT BUY THEM!!!

I bought the same kit (different vendor) and i had to return them TWICE for replacements of both ballasts and bulbs... I spent total of ~$30 in shipping.... They do have a 12mo warranty on ballasts and 18mo on bulbs, but it's not worth the trouble and money to send it back every two weeks or month...

You might have better luck than me, but i'd never take that chance again...

Mod express has some good prices and they seem to be of decent quality. Who knows, I'm just brainstorming any cosmetic things along with the turbo, including painting the back bumper and hopefully tints

i went through Mod-express and they are good product. I've had them for about 1 year and a half, and no problems. Mod-express sells a lot over at Honda-tech, so maybe u can check there for reviews as well. But I got mine from Mod-express and no complaints.

Mod express is a good product, i'd stray away from ebay hid's.

If you start a thread with the title horrible? That probably means they are

i bought the purevision set off ebay for about 150. they might not be the best in the world, but the install was easy and it is a dramatic improvement over halogens

just piece together your own kit, it will even cost you about the same.

1. philips or osram bulbs rebased to 9006 (get d2s, they work better in our housings ive heard)
2. philips or hella ballasts
3. upgraded harness
4. win

Run an ebay search for "9006 d2s" and theres a bunch of people selling quality pieced together kits

i have some mod express ones, they aren't plug and play, they are, but not really. just the male lugs you plug into the existing 9006 socket. 8000k, took a while to get because they wereout of stock for 8000k 9006 kits. paid about $230 for them with shipping, haven't had a problem with them yet.

AZN: They take a d2s bulb, remove it from the d2s base and put it on a 9006 bulb base (ie where the wires connect) so you can use them on a 9006 plug
