You dont have to be careful with the short ram. Just the CAI. I bought my intake off ebay for like 30 bucks or something. It works fine. I did have to replace the filter cuz the one that came with it fell apart. But you could get a k&n to put on it afterwards.

sorry kinda said that question wrong. Shortram im not worred about just the price is 88$ for a brand name AEM. does that sound about right??? since it is you get what you payed for...

For the V2 since i do want one, but my friends are saying just get the shortram cuz of people water logging their engine cuz of potholes... will it suck in water just as bad as a CAI???

hows about A'PEXi intake? are these worth it??? http://store.racinglab.com/apoin.html

If i do go shortram, i should replace the filter with K&N?

The good thing about AEM is it will fit perfectly for the specs of your make and model. Cold Air Intakes have a better chance of getting water in them, but both intakes could technically get water in them. It really just depends on the driver and if you are smart or not.
