Does anybody have a h22 transmission on the f22
#3
I thought that somebody did do this, it might have been to a f23 but same thing. If I remember correctly they said the top speed was less than with the regular tranny. But of course take off would benefit with shorter gears and all. and the lsd like shiney said.

You'd have to get a JDM H22 tranny to get the differential. I see them on Honda-Tech sometimes, but they're almost always in Cali and pick-up only. Might just be easier to snag up an H22 tranny and just buy the LSD seperately. That's what I was gonna do.
I'm not gonna waste money modding the F22, but a shorter geared tranny is worth the money.

yeah you dont have to swap anything besides the tranny. lots of people on cb7 tuner did it with their f series, its really easy and bolts right up. also the same for h23 tranny if u can find one of those they are slightly better than our stock tranny. of course h22 trans being the best.

OK, first off , you dont have to use h22 axels, you can use your own. If your going for a tranny with shorter gears, dont go with the h22 tranny. The gears are much to short and your top speed with the f22 will be around 105 mph !!! The best tranny for our cars and the f22 would be the m2s4/ h23 non vtec transmission. The gear ratio is tight, the gears are not quite as close as h22 but will GREATLY improve acceleration from 0-80. Top speed around 115 which is not that great but pulling a 15.5 @90 mph just with bolt ons and a tranny Those numbers are from a guy who swapped one on his 2dr accord

M2S4 - Prelude Si (H23) = $250
M2F4 - Prelude VTEC (H22) = $400-500
M2B4 - JDM LSD (H22) = $800-1000
OEM LSD's go for roughly $200 - $300.
I was thinking maybe an H23 tranny with OEM LSD would make a nice set-up. Make our cars feel sportier and more fun to drive.

edit: rather, would the stock gauges read correctly if you threw the new tranny in there?

I'm doing the same thing to my GSR tranny. Putting in an ATS 4.9 FD and swapping out my 5th for an LS 5th gear. Any reputable tranny place will do this for cheap. The one near me is charging $80 to change the gear.
