Do the 3.0's have a knock sensor?
A while back I swear I read somewhere on the second gen forum that said the first gen's didn't have a knock sensor, but then how can the ecu throw "cylynder x misfire" codes? How does it know if there is a misfire or not if there is no knock sencor?
thanks guys. this is just a random question I have.

The ecu somehow has a way of knowing but i am not sure how its done. I know its not through the KS. The knock sensor is like a microphone and if it detects a change in the frequency it normally gets from the engine it will trigger a light and retard the timing to compensate.
