Disabling the secondary o2 sensor

Hey,
My cel light is on and it's throwing me the secondary o2 sensor malfunction code. A friend of mine told me that the 2nd o2 sensor doesnt really do anything so I looked on the net ways to disable it and I didnt find good information,... It's pissin me off cuz my car is in "limp mode" with the cel on and performance/gas mileage sucks,.. Does anyone know how to trick the ecu into thinking that the 2nd o2 sensor is working??

thanks,
M

the secondary o2 sensor wouldnt cause your car to go into limp mode. its only purpose is to tell you when the cat is doin its job or when its not. most obd1 cars done even have one cause they assumed then that a cat cant go bad.. but that diagram works ^^^^^^^^

but instead of just tyin it up out of the way make sure you reinstall the sensor.

and that mod i dont think will work for you since the sensor is bad. it tricks the signals its gettin from the sensor to the ecu so the car thinks your cat is working.. so i do beleave your fresh out of luck as far as trickin the car. just replace the sensor.

I'll probably give it a try anyways since I don't have much to lose and if it works it'll be better than forking out 200$ for a sensor...

I'm also pretty sure that my car is in limp mode because I have noticed a difference in performance and gas mileage.
