Diming with HID
Ok right now with Hyper whites I get a little bit of diming when my car is stopped. If I convert to HIDs will I have this problem and does anyone know how to fix it

i dont think you'll ever have dimming problems with HID's
i'm sure your whites dim because the engine is running slower at idle, and you have a system running? does it dim whenever the sub hits?
HID's use less power than any traditional 9006 bulb
35w opposed to 55w+

having hids for numerous years now, i never got any dimming, when i had to revert back to halogen bulbs for a short time period, the dimming did occur, another thing that causes a "dim" is hitting the window up button when it is already all the way up, but as far as that goes, the hids should prevent it, since they run at lesser wattage then the halogen bulbs, 35 watts i think compared to 50-55 watt stocks?

HIDs have to operate on a constant voltage. Like Chris was saying, most ballasts have an operating range of 10-15v. Anything outside of that and they won't come on at all. The power issue doesn't really have anything to do with it. 35w vs. 55w is only a few amps difference for both sides. The "dimming" is all the extra current draw. Your window motor may draw 10-15 amps, which is enough to push a system that's out of gas over the edge.
