92-96 h22 motors are a lot stronger they are closed deck and allow you to use Forged piston (Wiseco)....and they are OBD1 well execpt for the 96, which is OBD2 withthe same block design(closed deck) these motors are rated at 195hp & 161tq
97+ h22 motors are weaker and have an open deck design you have to sleeve in order to use forged piston....the the cylinder sleeves arent as strong because the walls are thinner....they are OBD2 which makes tuning alot more complecated....they are rated at 200hp and 161tq
but in my oppinion the 92-96 motors feel alot more powerful ...but that is just my opinion
hopes this helps

Big Block DOHC Type-R
Yeah, I've heard mixed oppinions on OBD1 and OBD2 as far as wich feels stronger. In my opinion OBD1 is allways going to be the better pick. OBD1 is easy to install and set up. Even in a CL. H22's are the shit. I've been in love with them ever since I saw one in a JDM SIR Accord(I had an Accord at that time). They look the best in a CL though. I come home, pop my hood and gaze at that beautiful red valve cover. It just makes me smile. Anyways, I'm rambling. Go OBD1 if you want an easy setup.
