debadged....HELP!!

hey, i just pulled the badges off the back of my car (ACURA and 2.2CL). used all the stuff you guys have said in previous threads, and got them off without a problem. But now, i have a ring where the badges were; at a certain angle you can even read the what the badges used to say. bottom line, it looks like absolute shit. Now, i'm not sure if the rings are actual adhesive stuck on there really well or if it is just how the badges affected the paint finish over time. But goo gone and heat didnt get rid of it, and neither did some turtle wax scratch/swirl remover (i went at it hardcore for like 15 minutes, no results) please help me out if anyone's had the same problem, or just might know a trick thanks guys

once you have teh bandges removed, make sure you get 98% of the sticky stuff off of the car. Then wash the car, then wax over that particular area. Mine was REALLY obvous before I washed and waxed, but it's mostly unnoticable now.

Use a rubbing compound then after you wipe it off use a polishing compound.. Wash and wax it then give it a little bit of time for it to even out.. I had the same problem, but others said I was nuts and couldn't see it..

ok.. go get the hair drier and warm the area through a cloth (as to not hurt the paint) then use that cloth with some goo gone and rub like your life depended on it for 15-20 mins. i used a little acetone briefly when i got lazy. then clay the whole area, then wax 2-3 times, if you can still see it then either find someone to repaint your trunk or put the badges back on.

wow lots of replies real fast, thanks so much...i'm leaving for a trip so i guess it'll wait until I get back in a week or so.....dont mean to sound compeltely idiotic, but how would i go about "claying" it. i'm completely unfamiliar with that thanks again, hopefully it'll turn out alright..... the car looks pretty sweet at that perfect angle in the perfect light where you can't see the residue

clay = claybar

basically a hunk of clay that you rub on paint to remove metal flakes, brake dust, bugs, small shit...
