I had a similar setup back in the day. I have one of the few "type r" style grilles now and absolutely love it IMO, its the cleanest grille that i have seen on a first gen so far

thats a 98-99 grille if im correct.

that must have taken a lot of effort.

kudos on the hours spent, BUT, i had a 98-99 grille at one point.

And i noticed that hte last 3 slants (\\\ A /// ) are solid through, you cannot see through them.

So i dremelled them out and put the mesh behind it. If you were to dremel them out and get the

grille painted the same color as the car and skip the mesh (in the long run, the mesh is not really

a good idea when couple with stock parts).

All in all the custom grille is a great DIY. I figure that it gives the car evolution.

From one stage to the next, the car can get nicer and nicer looking.
