Have you seen those rubber things that wrap around the springs? Maybe try those?

I don't know...my sister has them on her G2 Integra. It's tube shaped and it's slit down the middle so they can just slip on and wrap around.

We're starting to jack a thread here, hehe....um cam gears...don't know much about them actually. Just know you have to dyno tune them. It just advances or retard ignition timing and it does help, but not sure how much.
