Cracked stock header

ok so i removed the stock heatsheild from the headers a couple months ago and last week i went to check my oil and i noticed a crack in the header. Would removing the heatsheild cause this to happen?

no, removing your heatshield will not crack your header, you have bigger problems, like an exhaust leak, get new headers.

go with some dc sports ceramic coated, ceramic doesn't get the engine bay too hot.

Is removing your heatsheild a good idea? I mean I read somewhere that it can cause fires easier and stuff like that but is it really that bad cuz I kinda wanna take it off cuz its so ugly but I also dont wanna have a fire

i'm no mechanic but its i am pretty sure that removing your heatshield will not cause a fire under your hood.

It's not the best idea, but it won't hurt, everyone with AM headers never puts a heatshield back on, so they can see the headers

And even if they did want to put a heat shield back on, theres nowhere to bolt it up. stock headers look kinda funky
