Could it be the hairline crack...
I removed my manifold heat shield to degrease my engine & i noticed a hairline crack on the manifold (the pressure of the leakage is amaizing).
After searching this form I found this Link which discussed hairline crack in headers, ticking from rear header & explains how to repair it for only $4.

Is the hairline crack the culprit or contributed to my...
1. oil consuption (1 quart every 380 miles)?
2. P0420 (catalyist efficiency below threshold (bank 1) CEL?
8 months ago the catalyc was replaced because the prior owner was told that it was no good.

part 2 could be related, but that's usually an o2 sensor error.

haha 1 qt per tank of gas... my friend's '76 Jimmy does that. We need to stop for fuel and oil at the same time, quite entertaining. It's so big that it eats dinosaurs non stop.
