Blue Bulbs in the upper clear corners, Blue in the lower clear corners and blue in the turn signals....the all match. Plus blue-hyperwhite headlights match too. Looks great. I've had some close calls with the 50's for the turnsignals but oh well...looks are everything arnt they??

I'm a Little Slow, Please Clarify

Hey guys. I'm a new CL 3.0 owner, mine being a white 1999.
I just bought my car from an E-bay auction, winning the bid by
$1.00 over some last second bidder who I guess got out foxed
by this ole' fox.

Anyway, I have a question that I would appreciate a straight forward answer for. I'm only planning two modifications at this time, one being replacing the emblems on the back trunk with the gold ACURA lettering (thank you Dustbuster 4, among others for the advice and helping me locate a source for the emblems themselves).

My other modification is clear corners, which once again, this forum has been great in helping me understand how to take out the stock lens and replace with the new ones.

My question for you all is this.... Are my choice for replacing the bulbs as simple as getting #7440 Amber bulbs at any auto parts store such as Pep Boys, or is it legal to get any color bulbs that float my boat, so long of course that they are 7440's. Thanks again for all the help you guys have provided to me to this point. I live in Atlanta and hope to meet some of you local guys in the future.

It may depend on your local or state laws. Here in MD, I believe that anything between white to orange (amber, yellow, etc) are ok. Blue (true blue) and red are a big no-no.

I would stick with white, hyper-white, yellow, amber, orange, etc.

That's your best bet. I think they look just as good, if not better than any blue color bulbs that a lot of people put in.

I use Optiblue yellow 7440's which I've rewired to stay on at all times when lights are turned on. This gives my car that Lexus GS/IS look. I put in Polarg amber extra large wedge(don't know the size) bulbs in the corner, which I've rewired to act as the turn signal now.

btw-Optiblue yellow 7440's are literally turning black, cheap construction. I'll be switching over to Nokya yellow 7440's and see how last.

Thanks for the advice

Thank you all for the information about the bulbs for my new
clear corners. I understand about the 7440's but am wondering,
is this the model number for bulbs I would get directly from ANY
autoparts store, or do I have to order them?

I saw one of the links you provided to me and frankly, for two
$3.00 items I'd prefer to get the optic yellow (I'm conservative,
what can I say) bulbs locally. So, my question is this, would
Pep Boys or Auto Zone carry the bulbs I need?

by the way, what is the color of the bulbs "stock" in the car?

Thanks again. MHM

You can try at your local auto parts store, but I had to buy mine via the internet ( www.autodynamic.com ).

As far as the color of the stock bulbs, I would say they are puke yellow.
