Clear Coat for car.

Hey fellas i was wondering if this would be a good idea. i plan on getting my hood and trunk painted and then adding just a clearcoat to my entire car. would that be a good idea or would it do something that i would like. let me know

You cant just put on a clearcoat w/o stripping the paint off and re-painting your whole car. At least thats what bodyshops tell me. You already have a clearcoat on your car...not a very good one but you do have one at least.
