Clear Bumper made for our Car!!!

Finally, we have clear bumpers for our car!! No more shaving, cutting and modding Integra lights. These lenses just screw right in. Took me all of 5 minutes, and I also installed orange bulbs!! I bought mine at www.autodynamic.com . If you search on the net, several places have them!! Just thought some of you would like to know

Yeah I had my clear housing for a while now. Got them off of ebay, well actually I just emailed a seller and he sold to me on the side for $30. I got really lucky with the price. Check mine out by clicking on my car pictures link

Wow they have really come down a lot. I was thinking of replacing my integra ones with the ones for our cars when they first came out but procarparts.com had them for like $80. I think i can afford 30 bucks for them. Thanks

I've checked out your car. It's almost a twin of mine (except I have the PIAA 1100x fogs). I bought them when they first came out b/c I was getting frustrated modifying the Integra lights. I paid around $50 or so, but I don't care, they look 100x better.....

Believe it or not, I don't have any pics yet. My digital camera sucked, so I hated using it. I finally sold it, so once I get a new one, I can take some pics. It looks stock except for the bulbs, tint, and clear bumpers.....

Yeah, I wrote to Tim and asked him about it..... I don't think I'll get it because if the Feds lower the interest rates again I may go down and put a down on a TL-S and get it earlier than I had planned.....

His car looks really sweet with the white bulbs. My problem is NY state law says they must be orange, so I have orange bulbs for the light and signal. It really doesn't matter to me since at night, you can't even tell I have clear bumpers, so I'd rather be legal.....

Im not sure if the white is legal here in CA, but I live in a city where all the cars are fixed up..lot's of integras. So..the cops are really nice about things like this..especially since it is not an integra or civic, they always let me go on speeding and stuff.

As for the lights....as far as I can remember, PIAA doesn't make a bulb for the blinker part, only the wedges. The polarg's DO NOT match the PIAA's. As you can see in mine, they are way too blue. They match the Hiper lights though....sorry.

I think you're right tw1112; I can't find anything in the way of bulbs to match my piaas. I'm gonna send some e-mails and see if I can get recommendations from manufacturers.

hey juniorbean, how do those orange bulbs look inside your clear corners? would like to see pics of your car when you have a chance.

Marko,

I think they look fine. I mean, in the day, my lenses look just like tw1112's. It's just at night they look different, but that doesn't bother me b/c you can't tell they're clear at night anyway!! I'll have to snap some pics and scan them in.....

tw1112...

What kind of wedges do you have? Are they the same in the bumper and headlight, and what kind of blinkers.

I asked before, but i forgot.

I have some kind xenon lights to, like kind of like yours, not piaa's so not as bright.

I just ordered EUROLITE wedges and blinkers. Think they will look nice. I got them cheap. If it doesn't work out I will ebay it.

What kind of FOGS also. I think i am going for the 55w 3A Hyper White (i think thats what they are called) they have a chrome housing.

I am actully going to rewire my blinkers to stay on with the bumper wedges, and for my headlight wedges to be the turn signals.

Kind of like extra fogs.

Will this work, will it look good, will the wedges be bright enough for a signal.

If not I might get some aftermarket lights of some kind, and just drill another hole in my bumper lights for the signals.

I just like the look of the blinkers staying on.

ONe more question will they burn the housing, since it is 21watt and will stay on the whole time.

Just got mine today. Can anyone please tell me how many screws are holding the lens? I saw one and when I was done unscrewing it, I still couldn't take it off. Is there another screw from the back that holds it? Thanks.

There is only one screw holding it in. After you unscrew it, it kind of slides over and out. If you check the manual, they give you a good photo to show you. Don't forget to transfer the spring and brackets over to the new ones.....

No problem... I would be more detailed, but it's kind of tricky to explain. Using the manual is the best way to go. Good luck and welcome to the board!!

Didn't you post this in here already??

I think what you want to do will work, but I don't know how legal it is. If you use your headlight wedges as turn signals, I don't think on-coming cars will be able to see them. I'm not sure what the limit is for the size bulb you could put there, but I don't think it could support anything that would be bright enough to be safe. I mean, the turn signals, like you said are around 20 watts while the wedge bulbs are 5w. There's a reason for that.....

Yeah I dont think that would work. Maybe if you worked it out so that the bottom stays on the whole time, but blinks when you activate your blinker?? I don't know how hard that would be...but it would be safer. About the casing, it should be okay...I cannot be positive, but I think it should..

Thank a lot guys.

I also though about making my bumper stay on, and also blink. I just don't know how to do it.

Any ideas

I think all you have to do is switch to double-contact bulbs. These bulbs will stay lit when your headlights are on, and then blink when you use your signals.

Actually...isn't it the other way around. A single filament bulb stays on while the double filament bulb turns on and off with the turn signal?

noticed that a couple of the auctions on ebay have better response and wondering if there's a preferred seller or difference in the lenses they sell.

also, anyone know of interior & exterior bulbs to match piaa 9005/6s & 19168s. I can't find anything, so I'm thinking of putting amber bulbs in for blinkers and piaa 19168s in the side markers. is there a partition or barrier that separates the two sections of the lense to differentiate bulb output? anyone try this or have an opinion?

I can answer this part for you... the lens does have two sections, one for the side marker on for the blinker, so you can do this. The side markers are just wedge bulbs, so any wedge bulb will work. I was only able to find the turn signal bulb at www.autodynamic.com since it seems to be an older bulb style. It's like a large wedge bulb. It even pushes in like a wedge bulb (as opposed to twisting in).....
