Cleaned solenoids, now D4 flashing error

I got a CL about a month ago and barely been able to drive it. It threw a code for the cat o2 sensor so I thought the cat was bad until I saw the egr clean out tutorials.
I cleaned egr and while i had it taken apart cleaned all the shift solenoids and put it back together. Now the o2 code is gone cuz it has to run to throw that code again, and I have:

D4 flashing green CEL shift solenoid linear b (electrical).

Got junkyard solenoid, tested it. It passed Tested old one, it didnt click immediately when placed to 12v and ground so i figured it was bad (delayed click until ground removed). Replaced and still got the code. Do I need to test the hire harness now?
This car is killing me, Do I need to pull the transmission apart to rebuild? I have the external radiator already purchased and was going to add an external filter kit as well.
Please help
!!

What was the DTC number? Shift B and Linear B are two totally different parts?

Check all solenoid connections and trans ground cables.

You should replace the O2 senor or sensors. They're relatively cheap and should be replaced around every 100k miles.

Ok so the solenoids i cleaned are the ones of the left Solenoid A, the two small ones, B & C that are located under the starter on the front of the vehicle and the automatic clutch pressure control solenoid valve a and b they are the biggest one located pretty much on top of trans under battery. The connector for this on was broken put plugged back in okay. Is this the solenoid the code is throwing ? I have the connector new from a junkyard but havent been able to repin the connector yet.
This is probably cause then? Maybe I need to jiggle connector while car is on, Is this okay (safe) to do?
Thx for the help guys.
will post specific code when i get back to car, gave up for now.

The A, B, C on the passenger side are Shift Solenoids and the driver side are Pressure A/B Solenoid (linear).

Yeah fix the connector and see what happens. Should be ok to jiggle it and starting at the same time from a safety stand point. However, it's probably not the best thing for the electronics.

Thx 01acls, good info. Will try and report back. Did fix a bicycle at least, I m such a crappy mechanic!

Update: It was the electrical connector to the actual solenoid. It would bend loose from the magnet part the a one was stiff. Got part at pickyourpart for $12 and swapped them. No more error code!
Thanks for the help guys. Especially 01acls, also which oxygen sensors you talking about? The ones under the hood?

The transmission shifts much better after cleaning the solenoids. It needed it. I have done 2x drain and fills and will do one more and install cooler and external filter. Hopefully this will make it even better.

Joke but not a joke. I was going to come in here and just say unplug your battery. I've been driving mine for 2yrs now with it throwing transmissions codes every couple of months. It runs like the trans is about to fall out the bottom after the code, horrid, horrid noises and slams. So I unplug the battery plug her back in and everything is back to normal.

Yes, it does slip 2nd to 3rd when it's cold out and pushed hard, like leaving work.

You might want to try replacing the...

Shift solenoid C and the 3rd clutch pressure switch.

3x3 ATF

Thank you, oddly enough I've spent the better part of the morning researching cleaning the solonoid, I wish I realized it yesterday, when I had off. I'll be sure to update:rolleyes:

Since you're having problems in 2nd/3rd gears you should also replace the 2nd and 3rd gear pressure switch (#11 x 2).

#25 is shift valve C.

If you want to spend some money it would be really good to replace the A/B pressure solenoid (#23). That will help shifting in all gears. Replace the gasket and three O rings.

If you were to clean anything you would want to clean the A/B solenoid (#23)... 3 pipes screens... Replace the 3 O rings and gasket. Same for Lock up/Shift A solenoid (#7/8)

THANK YOU FOR THE CHART!!

I took apart and cleaned 7 and 9. Gotta hit up 25 tomorrow. I've been cleaning them and then testing them. So far after doing this, it still runs fine lol btw, it's the dirtiest job i've done on a car, cramming my fingers where they do not belong.

is removing 25 going to dump out all the fluid, being where its located? I cant afford tons of fluid at this time.

ibGTV 09-25-2015 12:09 AM

@01acls
What website has those prices?
mine two usual list part 11 price @$39.77
Good info in here guys, thanks for continuing to share
Mines shifting rough again, may do a trans rebuild if I can get another car running. Does rebuild include replacing all the solenoids usually?
