Thinkin about buyin a 1st gen cl, any problems i should lookout for, are they mechanically sound.

Past making sure every switch and button works and taking it to a mechanic to get the condition looked at, there is nothing quarky about the 97-99 CL's. They are great cars, several people here already have 160k miles and going strong.

Overall, I'd say they're mechanically sound. Some of the early '97s have a ball-joint recall. Window regulators go out on occassion (unless you're me, then it's 4 times this past 12 months!) Honda isn't the best manufacturer of auto trannys, so get the 5-speed if you can. I can't think of anything else. Get the CL, you'll love it!

My CL has a pinstripe......get one without......they really slow you down :P
