From what I heard, Honda engines are already tuned to give as much hp as possible, there isn't much hidden horsepower in a stock engine (without replacing parts). VW's have turbos in them and the chip probably is programmed to increase the psi on the turbo boost, since the stock setup is probably conservative. Unfortunately Honda did not leave much room for improvement without changing out parts of the engine. The only thing that could possibly help us is a V-AFC, but that will only help when your car is heavily modded, at which point the air fuel mixture needs to be adjusted for all the extra air your car is getting via intake, headers, exhaust combo. But even for that you need a dyno to tune and maybe get like 10hp.
