change wiper blades?
ok, so I noticed in last week's pouring rain that my wiper blades suck! they were put on when I bought the car in May, figured they'd glide smoothly for longer than 6 mos. anyway, I searched and didn't see a DIY on changing the wiper blades for 1st gen CLs. Can anyone post some instructions. Also, do you get OEM wiper blades or is there a better/cheaper aftermarket brand you use? Did you pay to have them changed (how much $$) or DIY?
thanks!
thanks!

go to the auto parts store, have them look up the car - wiperblade applications - and the proceed to be n00b when you ask them to install the blades for you...lol

I got tired of going to the auto store buying blades and refills every 6-8 months here in New England. I went on the web and bought a set of PIAA Sporza Silicone Blades. Cost after shipping was about $47 for the pair. My buddy had a set on and they are incredible! Go check em out on PIAA site, then do a google on where to buy and look for the best price. I know they seem a little pricier, but you will relpace it much less, and use them much less. They say it is like putting a fresh coat of rain-x with each wipe of the windshield.

who uses rain-x here and do you recommend?
I'll have to look into the PIAA blades, we get enough rain (+ I do a lot of snow/ice driving in the mtns in winter) to justify that purchase

yeah, rain x rocks! I am in rhode island, and we get plenty of all the stuff you get, if not more. Well worth it, believe me. Put it this way to the guy from Vegas that was bitching about the expense. Bear in mind, these are probably the best blades on the market, hands down. I am from Seattle originally, and can appreciate a good set of blades and know how important they can be. Now after living in New England, I can appreciate it much more with all the snow and ice here. My buddy uses them back in Seattle, and I have seen first hand how great they work. Not to mention, it is a cosmetic dress up as well. They look really cool, and are available in Carbon Fiber or Black. I took Black.

Ricers do. If they're red, blue, or other colours of the rainbow, they stand out.
I need some new wiper blades, these winter ones I got aren't that great on the highway.

My OEM's lasted almost 5 years. While getting an oil change a couple months ago, I had them put new ones on. Only $4 per blade and N/C to put them on.
