i just installed a alpine cda-7897 in my 98 acura. it looks and works fine accept for one small thing. it wont put out sounds when i have a cd in it. the radio works, but when i put a cd in, it shows that its playing but theres sound. a friend told me that it might be the fuse in the cd player or the fact that its bose speakers and i might have to do something with the little amps hidden around the car. maybe hes full of it and has no idea what hes talking about. any help would be appreciated.

 

if there is sound from the radio, everything after that is just fine.

is it brand new? if so, take the shit back. if not, you got screwed.

 

A way to check would be to plug a regular speaker into the deck and re check the cd player.

 

This has been discussed at least twice in the last two weeks, you hooked the antenna remote lead from the readio to the antenna lead on the wiring harness. When you instert a CD, or switch to CD, the antenna leead from the Alpine (and most any HU), will shut off. Instead, use the amp turn on for the antenna lead in the adaptor harness. Problem solved.
