Car Idle (Repost)
I've asked this question before but never got a good answer or anything that really made a difference. And I dont want answer's like this is "NORMAL" "Dont worry bout it"
I know 2 people locally with CL's and none of theres do what mine does...
When I start it up it idles at 1,500rpm and after 5 minutes it goes down to 750rpm. And then I usually put it in reverse.
This does not just happen in the morning (first start up)
It happens all day long, except if I was just driving with in the last 30 minutes or so. When I leave school it does the same thing all over again and I let it sit for 5 minutes and then drive. I wait because I dont wanna slap the tranny into gear at that high of an RPM.
Anyone have any insight? Get's kinda annoying, it seems like im always let it WARM UP.

You don't need to warm it up like that. Just wait a minute in the morning and go at an easy pace. You'll be fine. I know how you like to baby your car, but warming it up like that is not necessary each time you start the car.

Hmm but when ever I put into reverse the whole car CLUNKS from the drop of rpms, that ok? I figured that was like doing a neutral drop on the tranny. The clunk is ok!?
