Can someone please help
My 97 3.0 has been slurping gas for a while now and i cant understand the reason. I checked almost everything. Plugs, wires, sensors, found nothing. Someone gave me an idea and said that maybe my tranny is not going into overdrive and maybe thats why im burning more gas then usual. Can anyone with a 3.0 tell me where their rpm's stand when doing 65 to 70 mph. Id really appreciate it. Thanks guys.

My car is sucking the gas also. I attribute it to the hot weather and my CAI of course causes more fuel consumption. Oh yeah my foot is pretty heavy too. Anyway if it is the same this winter I will have to get it check out.
Also when in D4 my rpm at 65 to 70 is @ 2300 to 2500 rpm

Check you fuel filter and injectors.
There have been many posts on this subject so try a search.
Around 65-70, I run around 2500 rpm. If you weren't in overdrive, you'd notice at that speed. You probably be around 4500rpms.
