Can my 2.2 beat a miata?
ok my friend has a MX-5 manual... he has header, muffler, 17" rims. Everything else I believe is stock....
my 2.2 auto has CAI, header, removed cat, muffler, 2.25 piping, stripped rear interior(back seat, rear side panels, wood panel covering the spare tire in the trunk, 9.3mm wires, Bosch +4 plugs, and No powersteering....
he's being talking shit on how my CL sucks and etc... and racing him tomolo night...wut u guys think? just want to be prepaired for the result....also any suggestions on how to be faster?? tahx alot guys...

ha at least you don't have to be scrawny little bitch just to fit into your car. I hate miatas, i wouldnt feel right driving one..unless i was a dentist or something....

I don't see why you shouldn't pull on him. Although the CL's are about 700-800 lbs. heavier than those gay miatas. It's not going to be a ass kicking. O well. Who picks up more chicks? You or him?

ull definietly take him off the line and pull harder at higher speeds 80+, but he might be faster 1/4 mile. i dont know the stats. but u do have an auto and with an i/h/e u should be runnin 16s. maybe all the weight u took out will help, but i dont see u breaking high 15s if ur lucky. what does a mx-5 run?
but then again all u have to do is step on the gas, he could mess up or just not be able to drive the car to its potential. i have beaten several cars this way when technically i should have lost to a lude and a celica gts. some ppl just dont know what to do with what they got.

Well, i don't really pic up chicks.. i have a loving GF that I'm planning to marry..
damn it... my car is so slow..... planning on getting AEM pulleys... oh ya... and does those resistor things in u IAF works?? like 4.7 ohm one or soemthing like that....

Mazdas are JUNK! I have no idea what kind of crack he's smoking. The Miatas are such chick cars!! FAG! They only have a 1.8L. What a poor excuse for a sport touring convertible....poor-man's covertible. I'd rather have the Beetle covertible before I drive a Miata.

Oh and FYI...the miata 90-93 is easily turbocharged via Greddy turbo...so, for less than $2000, you can turn a poor performer stock (17sec.) into one that is faster than all but 1 or 2 first gens (13.8-14.1). 94-present stock (high 15s to high 16s)...you can bump the timing and use bolt ons (low 16s to low 15s).

come to think of it that is a good point. you have almost no back pressure. your car is slower off the line than it was stock. the miata is going to hand your ass to you in every gear provided he can drive and nothing is wrong with the car. if u pull it will be up high but the race will be more than over by then. the fastest stats on a mx-5 (all years) i found is1/4 = 15.9 0-60 = 7.6

1/4 = 17 0-60 = 9
and his car is modded. u have almost no chance of winning. u cannot run faster than high 15s if ur lucky, but i suspect ur car runs low 16s.

well.. got a 2.2 auto off my relative for 3 grand.... i don't know man.. a 97 2.2CL with 80k miles for 3G sounds really fahking cheap to me.. so I got it... Anyway.... running later tonight... I'll update ya guys on how it goes...

1st of all According to edmunds CL's weigh 3009 lbs. Miatas weigh in at 2293 lbs. Do the math ass hole.
2nd of all CL's look much better, more luxurious, cleaner lines and more reliable than miatas. I'm not saying the CL will win in a race but I'd much rather have a CL than a Miata. You must hang out with ugly chicks that look like dudes if they rather choose a miata over a CL.
