CAI????? Dont know if it will fit

Ok so theres this druggy that buys food from my work "alot"! Whom has a 94 Ford Ranger V6 3.0, he has a DC Sports Cold Air Intake that he wants to sell me for $40.00. Being as Ive said before I know nothing about engine stuff "what fits ,dont fit". I need to know if I should purchase it for my car, will it fit etc etc! I checked the noob guide alreay, didnt see anything! But yea, he says his brother took it off of a 95 Acura Integra and gave it to him! So anyone whom knows please reply. I feel dumb for asking, but o well, I dont know and Im new to this stuff!

There's probably ways to make it fit, but yeah, it's probably not going to be worth it. Technically, if the tube diameter is the same you could cut the tube to whichever length makes it fit the best. I don't know the diameter off hand though.

SRI is louder and deeper sounding but some people say they hum and sound like UFOs. Mine certainly doesn't. Just loud and deep when you hit the pedal from half way to all the way to the floor. Other than that, it sounds stock on idle and low acceleration. Go to the third page of my intake thread that I linked you earlier. Check out the video. That is how a SRI sounds in car with windows up. There is no way a CAI can sound better than that IMHO.
Either intake roars just as loud through VTEC tho.

not everyone wants their car to put out that much noise when they have an essentially stock motor on an auto tranny.

Anything will fit, I just cut 5" of my buddy's Cold air off on his civic so it would fit cuz he got the MT instead of the AT transmission piping and needed modified, but you can make anything fit, but like we said, for the price, spend the $40 on ebay get a cold air intake for an accord and slap that bad boy in with a k&n filter and you're in business. I love my ebay intake

No, they're looped around to the 2 vaccuum lines, i didn't do straight runs, when I replace them with black they'll be run right, gonna eliminate the bent metal lines. I just looped them around cuz I didn't wanna mess with it, I have better pics if you still have questions

thats a good quality intake, if u wanna pay that price for an intake go ahead, but i know you could find a cheaper one on there somewhere

EDIT: for some reason that doesn't look like it will fit your car. I'm not sure but it doesnt look like the normal 3.0 intakes im used to seeing.

That's a good quality brand, but rather pricey. personally an ebay intake for a 98-02 accord will work, just get a k&n filter to go with it

$150 is the cheapest you could find? Did you not see my post?
Injen make good stuff. Name brand. Wayyyy to expensive for 3" pipeing tho.
If you want an expensive intake, just bite the bullet and go with AEM.
But if you want a decent intake that will perform the same but for $50, look below..

I did the cool little test at home that I forgot to post about on my intake thread but thought it would be useful here. We all know that K&N make the best filters with tests to prove it, but I thought I would do a little test on my own.

Anywho, I connected and sealed the shop vac hose to the BOMZ air filter and then to the K&N air filter. I put a little shred of paper on the ping-pong table and the BOMZ filter sucked it up about an inch before the K&N filter every time. The design is also better as there is an opening up top as well as around the side. So I went with the BOMZ Racing air filter instead and have the K&N as a back up if I ever need it. I might sell it.

So because the bomz filter sucked the piece of paper up before the K&N its better? I could see how you could equate that to more airflow maybe, but the test is kind of irrelevant in testing how good the filters are. You should put dirt on a table or dust and see which sucks up more dirt. The one that sucks up more dirt into the vacuum once u check whats inside of the vacuum is the one that you DON'T want, because a filter is supposed to keep dirt OUT. It sounds as if the bomz filter is more porous, and will let more harmful particles into your motor, which is why we always recommend K&N or AEM filters.

Ebay filters are def cheap and porous, my buddy's intake filter had glue on the inside imagine that heating up and sucking into your engine

Good point, I never thought of that. The bomz filter has better airflow but the K&N is safer. I can't say for sure tho, I will try that test again but with fine dirt some time.
