guys, just get some hood pins... the reason is cuz the OEM latch only holds down the center, but the CF hood is light enough so that driving on the freeway will cause the hood to be continuously pushed upwards on the sides by the wind. this repetitive action will weaken the latch and in time, it will either fly up and smash your windshield or just fly off. the hood pins might look ugly, but whats uglier IMO is the fact that you're losing a $500 hood because you dint want to spend another few getting hood pins

Ha! Got the grille! And according to Acura, they are offically OFF backorder!

Heres the rundown:
75101-SY8-A00 Grille, FR. $36.45
75120-SY8-A00 Molding, FR. (silver trim molding) $36.45
90157-SP0-901 Clip, Fr. Grille. (need 2) $7.44 total
75307-SN7-000 Nut, Side Protect (need 4) $7.72 total

TOTAL: $94.69 For a NEW 97' Grille

Now I can FINALLY start modding the grille and get it finished before the CF hood gets here. Oh, Im actually making 4 different kinds of Grilles. I'll post picts of all 4 and see which you like best...(prob wait and take picts of all 4 different ones on the CF hood to compare/contrast)

If you look, you can see the pit marks and dents in the old grill from the rock chips and the wreck.

all the plastic parts/clips on the back were broken off. When I wrecked, the grill actually ripped of the hood and the plastic screws and clips stayed on the hood. There was no way of fixing it. Plus, New CF hood, New grille. It will look better!

Now I just have to make all 4 custom grills and deside which I like best.
ahh...time to order more parts... ..im offically going broke!

Well, I actually figured out yesterday that i might still be able to use the old grille. lol. Turns out the plastic clips that broke off are actually still attached to the hood. (i just never realised or looked) Sooo what I'll probably do is fix the old grille, make 2 grilles, but each will have 2 different styles & looks that I'd be able to swap out anytime. We'll see how things go.

But hey, Whats the best product to use when trying to fix/glue/bond plastic to plastic?
I'd say superglue, but that isnt the best when trying to stick plastic to plastic. What about like an epoxy?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like this

1. The date keeps getting pushed back
2. Carlo doesnt say anything now that he has all 20 and only says its coming
3. It keeps drawing closer and closer to the date when we can no longer file a Paypal dispute.

I dont feel like we are getting burned... yet. But the thought keeps crossing my mind because originally we should have had them by now if im not mistaken. If i remember right we should have had them by mid-end Sept

First off, Yes, the date keeps gettin pushed back. Org. we were suppost to get them Mid-End Sept. Thats stated in the contract. VIS violates (breach of contract) if they dont meet the 9 week deadline (but even if they dont make it, which is @ the end of Sept. I doubt anything will happen) You all have to understand these things take time...I mean, its *custom made* and things may come up. Yes, I think that now since the other Org. thread got removed by the mods, Carlo is around here less, but its not like hes forgotten about us. I talked to him just yesterday on AOL. The test fit hood (just like all the others) is comming to the states via shipping freight container. The testfit hood is *SUPPOST* to be here today, fitted, and picts taken. Yes, it seems like the date keeps gettin pushed back, but look at it this way: The test fit *we know* is on its way...It should get here today or Monday. Once its fitted and VIS gets the "ok" then they can start shipping the other 19 over. I'd say once they get the "OK", it might be 2 weeks before we get them. 1 week to ship from China to the states, then another week to get through customs and reach each person. I say *hopefully* we will have our hoods in 2 weeks. (By Fri. the 7th of Oct.)

But no, were not gettin burned. I just talked to Carlo yesterday. The test fit should be here today or Monday. (I mean, you have to understand that there has been no updates on the hood as of yet, so no reason for Carlo to post the same thing over again. The testfit hood will get here when it can & Carlo cant make it come quicker. Im sure we will here somethin by Monday, if not today.

Just hold out for a little longer guys...we should have them soon...

Hey everyone. I haven't been on the forums since I haven't had anything to update you with. I'm not going to run take off with your money if thats what you guys are thinking. VIS has not updated me with anything that you guys would be interested in, they told me that it is coming on their next container, and vis gets containers every week. It's suppose to come today, if not they said MONDAY FOR SURE. I can't do anything about it, it's all VIS. I have no control over it, it's not like I can SUE THEM. Worse comes to worse, I can refund your money back if wanted. But for sure, the hoods are coming. Just give me until monday. And don't get me wrong, I'm a patient guy, but I know how you guys feel. I would be pissed right now as well.

Now that i have some $$ in my hands...i want a hood or better yet does anyone have a white hood that they want to sell?? i have a 99 taffeta white 3.0 that has hood damage from my uncles isht in his garage falling on my car. If anybody wanted to get a CF hood but can't because all 20 are sold, you can have my spot in the list for the same price. Actually I'm thinking about selling my car, that's the only reason I'd like to sell the hood. Most car buyers won't pay extra for a CF hood.

Anyway if you want my CF hood then drop me a PM. If not then it's all good, I'll be cruising with my CF for a few months at least
