Anyway, so im kinda confused...if we dont get them by the end of Sept. then carlo sues and gets $$, and we still get the hoods, + some $$ back???

Chances are, carlo is not going to sue. That would require an attorney and around a $5,000 retainer, which im sure carlo doesnt want to pay for and i doubt each of you want to throw in $250 towards an attorney in the hopes of maybe getting your $460 back in about 2 or 3 years. So your best bet is going to be to just be patient and wait for them to finish the hoods, whether it is 3 weeks from now or 4 months from now.

Although, if they dont start showing some progress, a good idea might be to pay an attorney a couple hundred bucks to write a threatening letter to VIS and let them know they will be sued for breach of contract if they dont provide the hoods by a certain date. I would help you guys out but im in florida and we have no jurisdiction in california. Maybe someone on this forum who knows an attorney in california can help you guys out if it comes down to it, but hopefully everyone will get their shit on time and there will be no problems.

ahhh i see....i understand now. Yea I just hope they finish soon. What worries me is the fact that the "test fit" hood was suppost to be here like a week ago, so now it wont be here for another week, (thats 2 weeks late) and then theres only 2 weeks left til the end of Sept. They still gotta test the hood and then ship all the others over here to the states ( assuming the rest are finished) And then they still gotta go through customs and theb be shipped to us... As much as I hate to say it....I doubt seeing any of us reciving our hoods for another month...

this means we're doing to have to drill holes into the hood to install the pins, no?

Yea...drilling holes in the CF I've heard that its actually pretty hard to do because if you dont do it *just right* you'll F up the weave and have rough edges of CF strands...So yea...I guess I need to go order some so i'll be ready when I get the hood.

Wish we had the option from VIS to either get them "predrilled" from the factory, or to leave them clean w/ no pins. That way they'd all be already drilled and the same and no one would have to worry about F'ing the hood up when getting a local shop to make the holes.

What do you think would look better?? Black or Silver/chrome Pins on a CF hood w/ Black car??

Black, and yes I too was hoping for the option for predrilled holes, but I sure as hell am having my holes drilled by a body shop. It's the only way to go.

Soo can anyone tell me where I can find black hood pins? (ive searched and only find silver, red, & blue pins...no black)

Also, what about these? I'm definitly likin these. I guess the only part that would be exposed ontop of the hood would be the shiney round silver key part?? What do you all think??

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...76&prmenbr=361

Humm what about these? You think the CF washer would be cheap/shitty looking on the CF hood??

no way with the cf washers, the weave may not match up and it'll be over-kill with the extra cf

thats what i was thinkin...overkill w/ all the CF. But what do you all think about the "locking pins?" I actually like the idea of them locking, and not just being able to pull the pin.

I just am not sure about how a giant silver washer is going to look on a CF hood. Are you guys going to get the reg. pins or something like these locking type?

I'm getting the locking pin type, and no matter what hood pin set you get, there's gonna be some sort of silver or black washer, just get the locking ones with silver washers.

i thought hoodpins werent going to be necessary because it'll still have the OEM latch on it.

That is true, but some of us are looking at getting hood pins to be safe. I still haven't decided if i want them for sure or not, becuz I'd have to drill my pretty new $500 hood, and then i'd loose the clean look of the oem c/f hood. I wanna see how it holds first.

I've been told im going to have to get pins, by 2 of my friends who both have VIS hoods. One friend didnt have pins and the hood actually flew up while he was driving and cracked his window. Even though its using the stock latch, the CF hoods weighs soo much less that air gets in under the hood through the sides and pushes it up. The Pins help hold it down and create less stress on the OEM latch.

I really think pins might be nessary, but I too dont wanna drill through the hood.

I think i know what you guys are gonna say but speaking of hood pins, How do you think it would look on a stock hood. I have a reason other than just the fact of having them..My hood bounces a lot when im on the freeway and im really scared its gonna fly up. Its tight at the latch so i think one of the welds broke....Just asking. Should i do pins or try and get the hood fixed? Sorry for being off topic. it wont happen again...lol

:wo0t: Wait...soo umm...dosnt like a container shipping on a big ass ship take like a week to get here? Meaning they already left China like last week and it will be here this week?? Meaning hopefully the rest of the hoods are done, the test fit comes in, fits, then they turn around and ship the rest via container and maybe hopefully we will get them by the end of Sept.??

Figure out whats wrong w/ the hood first. If no welds are broken or anything, then I'd say get pins...but IMO, pins on a stock hood isnt going to look great. Fisure out what the problem is with the bouncing, and try to fix it the right way first (ie. if welds are broken) If everything is fine and it still bounces, then I'd say look into pins.

Well, just wait to see if Platano gets a good. If VIS has been making a few extra on the side (**Cough..."breach of contract"...Cough**) Then you might have a chance, once Carlo gets finished with their ass reaming...hehe

QUESTION: Anyone know where I can get a freakin 97' Grille?!?! I guess the whole freakin nation is on backorder and my CF hood is going to look like shhiittt w/o a grille!!! Crrraaapppppppp. Anyone know where I can find one??? (yes, Acuraautomotiveparts is backordered too)
