Buying a Mustang GT

Never thought I'd own one.

Borrowed a buddies 2000 GT for a few weeks and didn't want to give it back!

Sooooooo . . . . . . I'm gonna buy it!

Ist upgrade is gonna be a Vortech Supercharger: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...ustang_gt.html 400+ HP will be a little more than what I had in the CL.

I'll have fun with the GT over the Spring/Summer/Fall, then trade it in on something German!

fabulous car... it goes like stink, sounds like a mechanical orgasm, and the heritage....

but.. interior.. forgiveable, the rear suspension tho.. not so. i just wish they had improved on the solid axle rear design. it jumps and bucks like a snotty stallion over bumps in a corner if you have the power on.

i was looking at them before i got my car. i still love them... but i would personally go for a cobra because of the rear suspension improvements.

jmho.

p.s. we still have to meet up.

this is what I had before I got the CL. It was destroyed by a dodge ram 3500. Personally I like the F-Body style more, but I do love a good pony as well. Good luck with the ride rick, send us some pics, and let us know how the pony runs.

good to see you back rick - I drove a friend's '05 GT last week and I chirped in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. No car payment is what keeps me from being too jealous

A little late, but congrats Dustbuster. I used to drive one, had tons of fun with it. Never had any problems with it during the 100,000 miles I had on it. I'm looking to get a new car within a year myself. I'm thinking TSX, RX-8, or G35.

If it wasnt for high insurance I would have bought a GT, untill i found out about the rear suspension thing. See if you can find a 99 cobra. but the insurance will kill you, well at least for me it was something like $3000 every 6 months!!! wow!

DB4's car was the car that made me decide to buy the CL. I found my CL, went home and researched to see what potential the 3.0 had, and his car was one of the first ones taht I came upon, casper, VX and a few others as well. But once I saw dust's car on cardomain, it was and I bought mine like the next day. At least dustbuster's car lives on in pics, memories, and in my car, I have his intake and K&N filter.

^I did. I myself haven't been on the forums much lately and was playing "catch up" with all the old posts. I saw DB4 's thread, so I thought I would congratulate him. Anything wrong with that?

i do believe that you can swap out the solid rear axle on the gt's
for the independant rear suspention of the cobras.

if i am remebering corectly is is supusto be easy.
think the frame even has the holes the cobras suspention bolts to from the factory
