Well guys whats up, I thought I sold my car twice, but some idiot in UK sent me a fake check and this other guy flaked out. So last week I was driving my back to stock CL grrr!! And guess what happened? My fucking differential went out and I pretty much needed a whole new tranny!
I was pretty sad at first, but then I said fuck it, its the perfect time........car goes in to Prospeed in Anehiem on Monday and my JDM H22 will be installed by Tuesday night. $3000 out the door. Not much more than most places wanted for a fucking rebuilt tranny.:P
I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in buying my F23 motor. It runs absolutely perfect and only has 68K on it. It would be perfect for anyone with a ton of miles that wants a newer motor. (As long as your tranny is good)
I guess the F-series trannies aren't quite that bulletproof afterall. I was pretty surprised, but now I'm kinda happy I'm keeping the CL. Sucks that I put it all back to stock tho Oh well sleeper I guess oh JDM too lol

Well besides that I have some smog questions. I have only about 5 months before my car will need to be smogged again, which is a problem since the H22 is a 94 My question is can I just go smog my car today and then it'll be good for the next few years or do I have to wait for the DMV to notify me?? I heard that the SMOG shops just smog it then let the DMV know by computer that it passed so i hope I can do this or ima have to pull some crooked ass shit to pass smog

yeah I'll check out their header, but I'm way too broke right now to even think about any mods. He said it'll be out Tuesday night, Wednesday at the lastest.

I'm kinda pissed, cause I just found out about the smog being good for 90 days. I need mine smog done in June so I'm seriously like 2 weeks short Plus I can't really smog it with the busted tranny, so it looks like I'll being droppin a few extra bengy's come smog time.

i'm betting there are more than a couple of places that will llook the other way when passing you smog test if you slip em a hundred. so let me get this straight you have to inspect your car every 3 months????

I say ask around with some other guys who have had the swap done, they have had there smog test done. Find out which shops are "JDM H22" engine freindly and take some extra cheddar with you for the hookup. At the very least, ask the lead mechanic at Prospeed, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I used a shop in Ontario when I lived there a few years ago - can't remember the name off hand, but he got a 12 pack and a Grant for hookin' my Probe GT up while I was there.

thats for the motor, tranny, ecu, obd1 wiring harness and all labor. Not too bad huh? Best price I found by far, and they supposodly specialize in H22 swaps.

Duece-where is your smog hookup?? Im gonna just start walking into smog shops and looking for someone shady and ask him if he'll accept a $100 and we just skip the test I only have till June

won't work like that anymore, you've gotta hook an actual car up and they scan the barcodes. Like duece said, you'll have to find someone w/ a stock motored car and then find a shady shop
