Burnout In a 3.0??
Anyone know how to get a real good burnout going in a 3.0 (automatic) ?????? Ive tried powerbreakin and using the e-break but everytime it seems like after a few seconds it starts to pull and i lose it..i can never just stay in one sopt and burn the tires...Anyone got any suggestions?
Also, a friend told me the 2.2 can cherp its tires goin into second and said my 3.0 could probably do it too. Is that possible? Can a 3.0 cherp the tires goin into second?
Thanks.. ~CJ~

i have chirped 2nd
i have a 1999 3.0CL and i can chirp going into 2nd no problem. you can't do it if you have the shifter in D4. you have to start in 1st and then anywhere above 4000 rpm shift it into 2nd and the wheels will definitely shirp...and make sure you have a good grip on the wheel, the torque that is put out in 1st is incredible. i am not sure how good this is for the tranny but if your under warranty like i am don't hesitate. HAVE FUN!!!

83K, YOUR WARRANTY IS OVER!!!!! Ended at 50K.
You can also chirp and burn the hell outta your tires if you pull the E-brake all the way up, put the car in D3, and let her rip! After you start to burn the tires, the car will slide, so just slightly turn your wheels to keep her under control and you'll have to buy new tires a lot sooner than expected. That tip came from the 3.0 burnout master, SHATOOI
He even has vids of his burnouts!
If you go to the track and try this at the starting line, like I do, STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER !!!!!!! This will not help you at all in getting the rubber to burn.

LOL, I love the quote in your signature. But I talk smack all the time, just not on any CL. But I do ahve to say that if they made the 3.0 in a 5spd then it would be the perfect teenage car.
