brought the car in for a Dyno yesterday
Well, after putting in the type-s cams. I finally brought the car in for a dyno, and to retune the VAFC. Went to Church Automotive Testing in Wilmington,CA. Shawn was a great guy and will probably go back in I ever needed to dyno again.
Well the results were pretty good. The car dyno in at 206 HP to the wheel.
I have the graph on my website. If someone could host it for me that would be great.

The guy explained it but i forgot, but it's suppose to be more accurate then the ones with the rollers. This one they remove your tire and connect this hub to it. The hub then connects to the dyno machine

mmm......got it.....I was thinking so once he attempted to explain it...

Our HP rating is 200hp to the flywheel. Therefore after taking away power from the motor to rotate all the crap we have in our trannies (which is about a 25% loss)/drivetrain, it comes down to about 150whp stock.
His dyno shows 209whp....making it well over that to the flywheel.
His total gains as of now has been about 49whp with everything. What we dont know is how much he made with the cams alone. We would have needed a dyno before the install of the cams, and a dyno after the install and tuning of the cams to show the actual amount of power it provided alone.
Over at v6performance, it shows to have about 10-13whp gain without tuning.

ok, so assuming 150 whp stock, that makes a %25 drivetrain loss (damn slushmatics). It's probably between 20-25% anyways. So 206 whp converted to remove driveetrain loss is like 274 engind HP (that's a 74 hp increase over stock), or assuming a 20% loss that makes 257 engine hp (that's a 57 hp increase) just imagine tossing on a 75 shot of nitrous, your engine would be pusshing over 300 hp.
I plan on going that route as well

As for pricing for the cams, they go for $250 (maybe higher, but I got em for 250 awhile back from a member on the boards) brand new at the dealership without the other hardware like gaskets, o-rings, etc......(the price may be higher, it'd be best to just call the dealership and ask for the price on the 01-03 CLS front and rear camshaft)
and then machining them will run you about $130 bucks. You have to get the rear cam machined to fit your distributor, it's the only way the rear cam will fit. The front cam will go in without a problem.

what he did with the timing belt was using those yellow paint thingies, he marked three to four points when the belt was still on. THen he took it off and installed the cam. ect...and with the new belt, he matched up those points and marketed it. THen match it back up on the gears. He said that saves alot of time and u won't mess up the timing

theres already timing marks on the crank, block, and cams which you have to lign up everytime you change the timing belt. plus you have the tensioner to loosten up and reset. its overall not too hard on our cars. i think the cams will be my next mod. cause im gonna be doin my timing belt soon as well as cleaning out my egr port. i cant wait.
