brakes warping
Alright so I have a 2.2cl and the first roters warped at like 150K miles so I replaced the front ones, solved the problem but now 30K miles later they are warped again. what could be wrong are they just bad roters or could the caliper be sticking causing it or something?

bc u are holding down the break all the way through during braking...your suppose to tap it....
basically you are holding it down through the whole distance...your rotors are extremely hot and your warping them!
remeber to just tap tap tap...lightly..not tapping where your car is jumping back and forth...also when you change your breaks always have it resurfaced..

Stop Riding Your Brakes, Or Slamming On Them At High Speeds

Then you pulse them by pushing down to the floor and letting off, pushing down to the floor etc.

yeah, you brakes warp because the metal is rapidly heating and cooling. What you dont want to do is like a high speed slam on the brakes and come to a stop. Thats bad. They are going to warp anyways, what kind of rotors did you buy? All the aftermarket ones that I have come across are sub quality to the factory jobs.

My rotors are slightly warped, when I come to a slow stop the brakes sometimes catch really hard.

well lots of people drive 85+ and then exit the highway and stop at the stop light they come to. Typically if you have to slam your brakes on while on the highway, you dont come to a complete stop and the air can circulate through them and cool them off.

"no one goes on the freeway just to slam on the brakes at high speeds."...duhh
Just have it resurfaced and get new brake pads....and quit holding down on your brakes all the way through or stopping at a short distance...<creates a lot of heat...
This is what I do...
if you need to slam on your breaks to avoid anything...do it..
but otherwards...when you are going to make a stop from a distance, prepare to stop and lightly squeeze down on your breaks till you actually feel a little pressure...let go lightly till you feel a little less pressure and squeeze again....and so on....till you make a complete stop...
dont take my word for it...this is what i do.....try it....
havent had any rotor warps since i had it....*knock on wood*

Slotted rotors will help reduce warpage by dissipating heat more quickly. If you are having problems you should upgrade your rotors. Slotted rotors can take more of a beating than stock rotors, but they can warp too if you really abuse them. Usually though a rotor will warp from excessive heat from repeated simultaneous use or from a sudden 150mph to 20mph stop

dont those rotors only help you to stop....the ones with the holes help dissipate the heat...correct me if im wrong...
slotted + drilled = heat reduction and faster braking
drilled = less heat
slotted = faster breaking

actually , cross drilling is done to aid in heat dissapation to get rid of brake fade. Slotted is to get rid of gas buildup under the break pads which affects brake performance during braking.
