They don't look green when they're on, but hey i'll probably never use em

They look white or yellow when they're on really. I just wanted the green to reflect in the headlight housing.

Hey quick question, How do you make sure the projectors are aimed right when you make them?

Mount them square and center to the reflector and you will be able to aim them with the stock aiming. You only mount the projo to the reflector everything else is free, so you can adjust the reflector like it's stock

More HID lovin

Alright, so I bought 2 "plug and play" 9006 6000K HID kits from a member on here, and began putting them on my 4Runner cuz I love my proj HID's so much. But they weren't exactly plug and play for my truck. After figuring out that the plugs to the ballasts went in backwards from how they should go in, I ran and tucked the wires and ballasts, and tried to install the "9006 bulbs" into the headlights, but they were too long, so I ended up having to take the battery out, and unscrew the bulb mounts, mount the bulbs, and force(screw) them back down to hold the bulbs in place. They seem pretty straight, but it was a pain. The fogs are gonna be worse, I have matching HL's and fogs cuz they're all 9006. But trying to unscrew and mount the bulb mounts inside the bumper will be quite a painful task. Hopefully the bulbs going into the projector fogs will just go right in. At least I got HID's on half the car now

Before, had 3 sets of Silverstars if anyone needs a set lemme know I don't need them now. Here is 2 b4 pics with the silverstars top and bottom

After, these suckers are bright, can't wait to see with the fogs if I can actually do them.

Noticed in a side by side (no pics yet) that the d2s projector HID's on the car are WAY brighter and have a much better output, no surprise there, we'll see how it looks with the fogs.

I have a replacement for the lower silver grill that's rusted, it's getting replaced when I try to do the fogs. Winters here suck

On the car or the truck? I don't think u mean the truck pics on pg 7, I'm assuming u mean the car cuz the truck has amber corners top and bottom. You're talking about the blue corners on the car? the PIAA's aren't blue, they just look blue on camera, ZeroCL has seen them too and said they're white. They look white coming through the smoked corners and that's what I wanted I do want amber LED turn signals for the CL though, to make em brighter

What size are the silverstars? I have the Sylvannia cool blues on my car right now, but I would have rather gotten silverstars. I may take em off your hands. It'd be an excuse for us to do a shoot sometime.

Also, this could be a dumb question, but my buddy just got a HID kit for his car and he might not want them after all, so he offered them to me. Only problem is they're 9007. Is there any possible way I could squeeze them suckers in there? If so, I could probably get them for next to nothing.

I don't think the 9007 works, I had enough probs mounting 9006 HID's into my 9006 4runner, i'd have to see the bulb specs to tell u for sure

Thanks man, I can make a small diy, I did have some help on my setup, but can probably help and am very familiar with the process as I've been researching it for 4 years. I am already coaching 2 other users over email and PM giving them hints and suggestions, if you want to undertake this I can try and guide you as best I can.

extremely sick job man!! Props on that, I'm about to do my tsx retro (pieced together all the parts for about 140 bucks total including shrouds, bulbs, and harness) and I can't wait.

This'll be my 3rd retro, but I'm coming from the 4th gen accord family where the jdm headlight housings had both up/down and left/right adjustability. Just kinda sucks the CL's only offer vertical adjustment. Regarding getting the horizontal left/right aiming, do the underside of the lowbeam chrome housings have a 'center' guideline? I saw something like this on HIDPlanet, where the bottom of almost all the low beam housings of even halogen headlights have a 'line' engraved in them showing the exact centering of the bulb in the housing.

That would make things a ton easier.

hey chris, you should do the washer mod to those TSX eye balls

accomplished by placing one, #8 washer on each bolt between lense holder and bowl

careful with color modding

if I were you I'd only do 1 washer per bottom nipple, 2 at most

I've color modded all my previous tsx retros, but upon retrospect, I probably would just leave em stock or only 1 washer at most. Thing about color modding is that you get those extreme 'flares' to the left and right of the step...and it looks 'colorful' from about 0-50 feet, but after that the colorband becomes so big and unrponounced that there is no more flicker. Attribute a lot of that due to the color/sharpness being killed by our non-perfectly clear headlight lenses. But yeah, I'd say probably optimal is 1 washer per nipple, or none at all...the tsx's already come with a lot of color stock

I'm not big on color modding because I went for the OEM look as much as I could, I def am not ripping the headlights apart now that they're all together. Good suggestion for people that are in the middle of doing their TSX retros
