Black smoke = Crap stain on white paint.
Ever since I did my swap there has been black smoke coming out my exhaust. First I thought I was running rich until I fixed that prob. My car really only does it on startup and till my car warms up it runs like shit.
Who knows there shit? Help me out!

Hah...That shit happens on my j30 too. The black smoke thing...not the running like shit part. I have to clean my back bumper from the black stain it leaves all the time.

it's not running like shit at all.........Thing is, all my friends with swaps don't have this problem. Anywayz, i guess im gonna have to finally paint my car GUNMETAL and wash it every other day.

check the valve guide seals/or the guides them selves. its kind a hard to do on an h22, but most likley thats ur problem. thier only like 5$ for the set of seals but.... the timing belt has to come off to fix just the seals, and the whole head has to come off to fix the guides. i wouldnt mess with it. just deal with the startup smoke. unless u really want to fix it. where in fla are u?
