Best way to lower my car without making it bumpy..
i have a 1998 2.3 CL, it's automatic and i am not interested in speed or any of that crap really, it is just a classy car and i want to keep it that way...but the damn thing looks like it has a lift kit on it..i want to know the best way to lower the car WITH keeping a gap, just a small nice looking one, i don't want to much or to make it look like one of those street racing things, i think an inch would do it....but the other main thing is, i don't want the ride to be more bumpy or anything, i want it just as smooth, is there ANY way to do this...thanks..

Well it looks like you're in the market for Eibach pro-kit. Check out my www for pics. It's a 1.5" drop. the back is perfect but I think the front could be a little lower. I'm riding these springs with stock shocks and the ride is not bumpy at all. So if you're looking to save money, there's really no need to get new shocks. Get the KYB AGX's for a stiffer ride.
P.S. Keep in mind that I have 35 series tires so the gap is going to look bigger than if I had the stock 60 series tires.

hey dennis I think I am going to be ghetto and put my old springs on the front and keep the prokit on the rear, hehehe the rs * r is what I had originally all around but the rear was tucked and a little too low, thats the only way that I think the pro kit will look good is if the front is lower than the 1.5

Dulux...That's cool man. You can do anything you want to your car, even if it is ghetto. But make sure it doesn't LOOK ghetto. When people ask what kind of springs you have just tell them they're custom and you're the only one that has them. Not even Dennis.

IMO I'd go with H&R sports... they actually claim to give a better ride than stock They seriously do have a better spring rate thatn stock (of course). $133 for all four... doesn't really sound like you'd be the kind of guy to install yourself... but if you are then that's all it takes. You might be able to find them for as low as $125 ( I don't know what shipping will cost you) check out www.speeddriven.com if you can't find cheeper than 133...

the H&R's might have a better ride.. but once you add aftermarket struts.. the ride will be noticeably stiffer.
some (yours truly) dont cut the bump-stops on the stock struts so they dont bottom and blow. that way you can keep a semi-decent ride.
H&R spring rates are preety close to the neuspeeds.

Get Prokits and KYB AGX....the prokits are the only or one of few companies that do progressive rate springs...which is what you get from the factory. This means there is a softer ride with a lower drop and even a hint of sportiness. Also, swap your struts out..in the long run, the KYB once set will provide a superior ride....if you dont wanna spend the cash on KYB AGX...get the GR2 gas struts...they work good...a little bit stiffer (designed to handle higher spring rates), but overall not bad at $30/strut.
