Back with tragedy and triumph

Ive been gone a while, I was staying in Thompson Falls, MT for 3 weeks to learn the art of snow drifting in the foohills of and in the rockies. Here is it all in a nut shell.
I had a few BIGGER crashes
Day 1 = CL Crash 1
Oversteered almost into a snow bank and lost control on the ice, bringing the passenger side, where my girlfriend was sitting, too close to the side for comfort, so I did the natural thing to keep her from hitting, quick left, hard right pull and release to engage drift, neutral and brought my side into the 8 ft tall wall of snow
Total damage: $112.34

Day 9 = CL Crash 2
Really foggy, really stoned out on a drive to Walmart, so I wanted to drift around Missula a lil bit and wake those folks up, 75mph into someones 5ft Juniper hedges, saw a house coming, slight left, engage drift, brake to a nice lil stop. Got it all on tape if any of you want to help me get it on the computer.
Total Damage: Unknown

Day 23 = JDM 180sx w/ Turbo Crash 1
Simple crash. Icey corner in a full swing drift, Lifted Dodge coming around the corner, nowhere to go but... THROUGH THE GUARD RAIL AND INTO THE CLARK FORK RIVER @ 65 (the corner was a suggested 30). Luckily there was drift wood that was able to stop me about 3ft deep about 10ft out. Saved the car
Total Damage: $1297.11

Yes we are well aware of those risks, that is why we stay in semi-controlled enviroments (weather and nature makes it not able to be under our control) and be install proper saftey devices in all vehicles drifting as well as equipment for the drivers (helmet etc.) However this does not reduce all risks and we are aware and have accepted that fact. Life without fun is death.

We would rather be driving than wasting our days on the internet. We dont TRY and drift the CL, we do, and infact it drifts quite well. Oh and your avatar, the red CL appears to be in mid-drift left. On a closed track.

Taken care of all those in our area, safe closed roads, empty parking lots are just the same, roads have a few more risks.

Hmm. We earn every dime we spend. Nothing has been handed to us. And with not the not deserving to drive, who died and made you DMV. All but 2 of us passed the California State Drivers Permit and Licence Tests with 100% on our first try. The people that dont deserve to drive are the ones weaving in and out of cars down the freeway over the speed limit in order to get somewhere, on average, of 1 min 30 sec quicker. Oh and the 85 year olds on viagra shouldnt drive either.

The only time I do drifting is when the roads are covered in snow and ice, and even then its just sliding around the occasional corner for fun. Drifting on pavement seems like a pretty stupid idea but it sounds like all of you are having fun doing it. Don't bash people that are driving over the speed limit when you are drifting into people's front lawn.

We will see this fool and his baby crew on the news someday for killing someone coming around a curve.I bet if his parents read this thread they take his keys away and he would be grounded and not be able to play his Xbox for a month. I bet he goes to school bragging "Dude we totally crashed our cars" Leave the kid alone let him catch a charge for being an idiot.
