average cost of suspension install/ and problems!?

Guys,
ima have my springs and shocks soon......and am still contemplating on wether or not i wanna do the install myself. I've got the place and time, but if i end up having trouble like some of you have had, (drilling out bolts, cutting shit, replacing bushings, im not gonna be into it. Then again, if i have a shop do it, and they end up having that trouble, will i get charged more?!?! Also, is this a common problem with our cars? Has everyone had this trouble?! I live in florida and was thinking maybe its just you "up norther's" who have had rust problems?.......TRUE/NO?!? Also, if you had a shop do, how much was it? THANKS GUYS!!

I think the rusting is from the salt living here up north.....you might be alright, just make sure you have another person with some automotive experience helping you. Shops around chicago (non ghettos shops) quoted me $240, $250, $300 1 ghetto shop wanted $200.

Just take a touqre wrench to the rear bolts if they come off install it yourself and if it gives you shit then take it in.
oh spray some shit on it b 4 attempting this.

Good luck

It cost me just over 300to get the springs installed with a broken bushing. i just got quoted 200 for the strut install. The place that quoted me 200 is a much more respectable place than the one that charged me 300.

I didn't have device to compress the springs so I paid someone to do it. Took them an hour and a half, then computer aligned the car. Cost like $250.00, made things alot easier that way.

My friend had neuspeed springs and install done for $250 at Racing Zone in Tampa. That place was the most amazing shop I have ever been to. Marble floors, a wall of rims that blinds you. Oh yeah, and the racing Supra on the floor, along with the tricked out CLK 430 on 20s, all inside the store. Go there. It inspired me forever. I also learned that a 3 series beemer on 19s is the way to go.

The only problem I had was the bolts on the rear. I would start with the front and if you get those try the rear. Also it is not that hard to compress the springs to get them off. I got some spring compressors from advanced autoparts for like $30. I also found it is easier when you lift both sides of the front together. Make sure you have some good jack stands also.
